Doris Vega Baez, a passionate Puerto Rican author, possesses a deep love for children, education, and the preservation of cultural heritage. During her visits to Puerto Rico, Doris fostered a profound fascination with the history and culture of the Taíno people, the indigenous inhabitants of the island. This connection to her Puerto Rican roots inspired her to craft a bilingual children’s book that celebrates Taíno heritage. Through her writing, young readers are empowered to embrace their own culture and appreciate the diversity that surrounds them.

With a background in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, Doris combines her writing skills and educational expertise to create engaging stories that educate and inspire. Her personal experiences and visits to the Monumento al Cacique Mabodamaca, where her family often shared stories about the Taíno people, further fueled her desire to write a book centered around a strong female character who values family, animals, tradition, and culture.
